Join us in the garden from 10 am-2 pm as we honor Ms. Donetta and her joyful contributions to the arts with an interactive, community art-making activity open to all, children and adults alike. Inspired by one of Ms. Donetta’s favorite artists, Yayoi Kusama (Japanese, b. 1929) and her famed Obliteration Room installations, the project pays tribute to an activity Ms. Donetta led for PS/IS 187 kindergartners and 1st graders, sponsored by Friends of 187, in 2017. Together, everyone will create a colorful installation that will enliven the garden while fondly remembering Ms. Donetta, a pillar of creativity for our school and beyond.
